Full Picture Revealed

{Do you then think that We had created you without purpose, and that
you will never be returned to Us?} (23:115)
{And We did not create the heaven and earth and that between them in
play.} (21:16)
If we uncovered through scientific discoveries that all creations have
a purpose, then what is our own purpose for existing? Why are we here
on Earth going through the journey of life? If I were to answer these
questions few years ago, when the picture was still not fully complete,
I would had told you that life is only an examination (exam) laid out
by Allah to test mankind (67:2) on the following Evaluation Criteria:
• Our faith and trust in the invisible one God
• Our faith in the Hereafter and the unseen world
• Our submission to God’s authority; our obedience
Today, most people, who don’t understand the purpose of our
existence, argue that God does not exist because they don’t see him.
{Those who have no knowledge say, “If only Allah would speak to us
or a sign would come to us!” The same was said by those who came
before. Their hearts are all alike. Indeed, We have made the signs clear
for people of sure faith.} (2:118)
Those people fail to accept that we live in two parallel worlds, the seen
world and the unseen world. To believe in the unseen world, The
Master of the Kingdom sent to mankind in the seen world messengers,
with scriptures to inform them about the unseen, and with miracles as
signs of evidence. To bear glad tidings that we can attain a much better
life than our current worldly life if we follow the straight path. To warn
us that life in the seen world is extremely short, relative to the life in
the unseen world, and it will cease to exist, therefore, no need to get
attached to it. When it ends, an eternal life in the unseen world will
commence with an evaluation session on how we did on the exam.
{We have created Man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may put
him to a test; and We made him hearing and seeing. We have shown
him the way to be either grateful or ungrateful} (76:2-3)
{Do people think that they will be left (at ease) only on their saying,
“We believe” and will not be put to any test? Indeed, We have tested
those who were before them. So Allah will surely know the ones who
are truthful, and He will surely know the liars.} (29:3-4)
{Every soul will taste death. And We will test you through bad and
good (situations) with a trial; and to Us you will be returned.} (21:35)
{And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a
loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to the patient,
who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and
indeed to Him we will return." Those are the ones upon whom are
blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are on the
right path.} (2:155-157)
Have you ever heard of an easy exam when the reward is so great?
Have you ever heard of an exam that doesn’t have a passing minimum
requirement? The worldly life we live in isn’t any different. God will
put us through difficult trials (2:214), to establish, strengthen, or test
our faith and our obedience. The Ruler designed various trials to
examine if we are able to fulfill our part of the covenant30 we made
30 Go back to chapter 5, if you missed or don’t remember the incident of the covenant we took with God. This is a
vital piece of the puzzle that I will further clarify, shortly.
with him in the first brief life. To test if we can stay on the straight path
or not, the path that ensures we meet his exam evaluation criteria.
Every situation and position we are put in is a trial. Even when we
experience the best days, Allah is testing us (21:35). The Observer is
examining what we are doing with the possessions, health, and
responsibilities he granted us. Each of us will go through different
trials, depending on the levels of difficultly and the number of trials
we can endure as individuals. The stronger the faith and trust in Allah
the more difficult the trials get.
{…We do not obligate any soul beyond its capacity…} (7:42)
{O Man, you have to work hard constantly to reach your Lord, and
then you have to meet Him} (84:6)
{Indeed We have created Man (to live) in hard struggle} (90:4)
Besides putting us through various trials, Allah did one additional
thing. He indirectly assigned an adversary called Satan that wants us
to fail the exam. Why is that? Why did The Delayer accept Satan’s
request to delay his punishment, and allowed him to “sit in ambush”
against mankind? Why did God allow evil in this world? To answer
these questions, we need to look at two things:
1) The exam’s evaluation criteria (listed above)
2) The exam’s scoring system: weighing good and bad deeds
Good deeds earned are based on our actions, and God told us he will
convert an unexecuted good intention into a good deed. As for bad
deeds, they are also based on our actions, but God will not convert any
bad intentions to bad deeds. I believe the reason why bad deeds can
only be based on actions has to do with God’s divine justice system.
On trial day (Day of Judgement), The Judge will call upon the angels
and our body parts to testify, in case we deny committing the recorded
bad deeds, and they can only testify against what they witness. This
creates a problem. How is God going to judge humans on what lies in
their hearts, such as, their lack of faith in him and the hereafter, and
their inward sin (jealousy, envy, grudge, greed, arrogance, immoral
desires, etc.)? What if you say you believe in him, but you actually
don’t? God said he will hold us accountable for what our hearts conceal
(2:284), but he didn’t specify any formula for converting concealed
disbelief and wrong feelingsinto bad deeds. Clearly stated in the Quran
numerous times, The Judge knows what is in our hearts, but because
he is The Utterly Just, and doesn’t wrong anyone, he chooses to not
add any bad deeds to our weighing scale without the testimony of
witnesses. This is where Satan and his devils come into the picture.
Their role is to expose all the wrong and evil feelings that are concealed
in our hearts by seducing us to act upon those feelings and commit sin
(6:113 | 22:53). By inciting humans to act on those feelings, the evil
feelings get materialized and converted into evil actions (outward sin),
allowing the angles and our body parts to witness those actions (41:22)
and have the angels record them in our book of deeds. Problem now is
solved. The impious are prone to be constantly incited by the devils’
seductions (19:83) because they are not equipped with faith nor with
the protective provisions granted by The One who Gives Security.
{And thus We have made for every prophet an enemy - devils from
mankind and jinn, who seduce one another with alluring rhetoric in
order to deceive. Had Allah willed, they would have not done it. So,
leave them and that which they invent. So that the hearts of those
who disbelieve in the Hereafter will incline toward it and that they
may be well satisfied with it and that they commit what those
(seducers) are used to commit.} (6:112-113)
With such system in place, The All-Enumerating has accounted for
everything. Allah allowed evil for two purposes. One, as a way to test
the faith of the true believers (21:35) and expose the hearts of the
hypocrites that claim to be believers (3:179). Two, to burden the ungrateful disbelievers with bad deeds (3:178), enough to get them
straight to Hell, no matter how many good deeds they earn. Adam and
Eve’s greed, or jealousy of the angel’s immortality, would had not been
exposed if Satan didn’t exist. Their inward sin would had remained
concealed in their hearts. Even the angels and Satan were put through
a test to expose what they conceal when God asked them to prostrate
to Adam. The angels passed the test, but Satan failed because he had
pride, envy, and arrogance inside of him that got exposed through his
disobedience. I assume Satan’s arrogance was never exposed until this
incident happened. Satan is aware of that, and he wants the Children
of Adam to fail the same way he did.
The more we take the exam seriously and study by seeking the truth,
the more likely we are going to pass the exam. Allah will guide the
believers to the light; to the straight path; to passing the exam. Those
who don’t want to believe and accept that they are taking an exam in
this seen world, or don’t want to study while taking the exam, they are
the biggest losers. They will live blind in darkness, under the false
pretext, “You only live once!”. So, the question becomes, are we
working for the rewards of this life we live in now, or are we working
for the rewards of the life after, or maybe both?
{And it is not (possible) for one to die except by permission of Allah
at a decree determined. And whoever desires the reward of this
world - We will give him thereof; and whoever desires the reward
of the Hereafter - We will give him thereof. And we shall soon
reward the grateful.} (3:145)
Today, there are different kinds of people. One kind is consumed in
working only to earn the rewards of this life, another kind is working
only to earn the rewards of the life after, and everyone else is in
between. From my observations, the majority of the people on both
extremes despise one another. They don’t understand each other, and
they see the other to be a stranger and completely ignorant about the
life they pursue. We are all entitled to our own beliefs and choices
(18:29), as long as no one transgresses onto the other. One of the
choices is to work for the herein and the hereafter. However, I would
give some words of caution on living for this life’s rewards. Be careful
from falling into favoring this worldly life over the life after or getting
drawn into this life’s illusionary enjoyment. It is perfectly fine to enjoy
life, but don’t let it consume or blind you. Don’t let it give you a false
purpose of why you are living on this Earth. Don’t let it make you
forget the remembrance of Allah.
{Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your (full)
compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away
from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has really succeeded. The
worldly life is nothing but an illusionary enjoyment. You will surely
be tested in your possessions and in yourselves. And you will surely
hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from
those who associate others with Allah much abuse. But if you are
patient and fear Allah, then this (observance) is among the matters of
firm resolution.} (3:185-186)
{Know well that the worldly life is but a play and an amusement and
show off of beauty and exchange of boastful claims to one another and
competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a
rain whose (resulting) plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and
you see it turned yellow; then it becomes (scattered) debris. And in the
Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and
approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of
delusion.} (57:20)
{Avoid those who have taken their faith as fun and games. The worldly
life has deceived them…} (6:70)
My best advice is to live this worldly life with two mindsets:
1) Mindset of the Servant: A servant is the one who submits to the
authority of Allah and does not want to disobey his Lord; the true
meaning of the word “Muslim”. Unfortunately, most people who
believe in God think that God is only there to provide them with
what they need. And when they deem themselves free of need,
they forget about God. A servant is someone that is always
remembering their Lord and fulfilling their obligation, in any
good or bad situation or position they find themselves in.
2) Mindset of an Expatriate (Expat): When we live away from home,
in other cities or countries, we are called expats. Most expats live
abroad to earn a better living than what they can earn at home.
The general mindset of an expat is to work hard and save money,
with the goal of eventually returning home with enough savings
to retire happily. This world is our temporary home, and Heaven
or Hell are our permanent homes. Make sure, as a believer, you
have saved enough good deeds in this life to retire in Paradise and
not in Hell. Also, as an expat you serve your employer and follow
company policy. Similarly, it is expected of you to serve and obey
your creator according to his policy. Without having such a
mindset, you will struggle doing well on the exam.
Exam results of this worldly life will be revealed on Day of
Reckoning, and everyone will know if they are among the winners or
among the losers. The winners are not the famous and the affluent, the
ones with the most social media followers and likes, nor the powerful
and the most fit. The winners are those that lived their lives on the
straight path and repented and corrected course if they ever deviated.
These winners can be from all walks of life and from any human race.
The most noble among the winners in the sight of Allah are those that
are the most pious.
{O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and
made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed,
the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most pious of you.
Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.} (49:13)
After the winners win the ticket of immortality in Paradise, it will be
said to them by The Loving One:
{"This is what you were promised - for every returner (to Allah) and
keeper (of His covenant). The one who feared the Most Merciful,
without seeing Him, and came with a heart oriented towards Him.
Enter it (Paradise) in peace. That is the Day of Eternity.”) (50:32-34)
{"Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is
the final home."} (13:24)
As for the losers, The Punisher will say to them:
{“Step away (from the winners) this Day, O wicked ones! Did I not
command you, O Children of Adam, not to follow Satan, for he is
truly your sworn enemy, but to worship Me (alone)? This is the
Straight Path. Yet he already misled great multitudes of you. Did you
not have any sense? This is the Hell you were warned of. Burn in it
Today for your disbelief.”} (36:59-64)
Then after they settle in paradise, the winners will blissfully say:
{…"Praise to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never
have been guided if Allah had not guided us. Certainly, the messengers
of our Lord had come with the truth." And they will be called (by
Allah), "This is Paradise, which you have been made to inherit for what
you used to do." And the people of Paradise will call out to the people
of the Fire, "We have already found what our Lord promised us to be
true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?" They
(people of fire) will say, "Yes." Then an announcer will announce
among them, "The curse of Allah shall be upon the wrongdoers. Who averted (people) from the way of Allah and sought to make it (seem)
deviant while they were the deniers of the Hereafter.”} (7:43-45)
This is the picture that I have unfolded, but it is not the complete
picture. Over time, as I gathered more of the missing pieces and gained
more knowledge and wisdom, I have come to realize that life is more
than just an exam. Life encompasses a training academy and Earth
is our training camp (The Bubble!). This is the concealed purpose
of this worldly life that almost all people are not aware of. The
exam is nothing but an integral part of the training academy. The two
angels watching over us are recording our training performance in the
book of deeds. The divine scriptures are the training guidebooks, and
the chosen prophets are the training coaches, role models, or teachers.
To survive in the bubble, The Sustainer gave us all what we need, from
water to oxygen and sunlight, to vegetation, to cattle, to fire, etc. That
is why Earth is different than all other planets, yet humans are blind!!
{He subjected for you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on
the earth—all by His grace. Surely in this are signs for people who
reflect.} (45:13)
To understand what we are training for inside the bubble, we need
to go back, once again, to where everything started; back in Paradise
when Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree. You see, Adam and
Eve were easily tempted by Satan’s false promise, the promise of
immortality. God gave them access to everything except one thing. Do
you think they were grateful to what The Bestower had given to them?
Do you think they understood and appreciated The Supreme himself
and all of his attributes? Did they even work hard and patiently to earn
immortality? I personally think the answer is “No” to all three
questions. I personally believe this incident is behind why we are on
this Earth, not only as a consequence to Adam and Eve’s disobedience,
but because mankind is not yet ready to live in Paradise. The Initiator
knew that all along from the moment he told the angels he is going to create a deputy on Earth. We are living on this Earth to learn and
appreciate Allah by realizing his attributes. To appreciate all of his
blessings that he has bestowed upon us. To appreciate Paradise, after
we had persevered and endured hardship with patience, and earned the
right to dwell in it, as immortals. I will be lying to you if I told you that
I am a believer today only because I accept this story to be the truth. I
will be lying to you if I told you I am only a believer so that I pass the
exam and enter Paradise. That is not my full picture. The full picture
is that I am mostly a believer today because I have an immense
appreciation for Allah's attributes and his glory. The more I experience
life as his servant, the more I know, appreciate, and admire The
Illustrious. And the more I admire him the more I feel close to him. I
immensely appreciate what he has created; I appreciate his patience
and love; I appreciate his mercy and kindness; I appreciate his endless
blessings; and I mostly appreciate his wisdom, balance, and justice. He
is The Hidden One, but now that I have come to know of him by
examining his attributes, his creation, and his divine words, he became
to me The Manifest. This was the most crucial part of his exam,
fulfilling the purpose of mankind’s existence.
Furthermore, I believe I couldn’t have been able to appreciate God’s
attributes if God did not extend those attributes to mankind. I don’t mean we are an extension of God. How can I mean such foolish thing
after all what I wrote in this book?! Here is what I mean. We are not
the Creator of All Things, but we are creators of some things. We are
not the All-Knowing, but God gave us knowledge of some things. We
are not the All-Wise, but God gave us some level of wisdom. We are
not the Most Loving, but we fall in love. We are not the All-Merciful
the All-Forgiving, but we can show mercy and forgiveness towards
others, and so on. It is God who extended some of his attributes to us,
at limited capacity, never comparable to God’s limitless capacity, and
trained us on how to use them. I don’t think he extended those
attributes to the angels, for example. This is why I believe we have
the capacity to appreciate Allah more than the angels and any
other creation, hence, why Allah created mankind. Man, the last
to be created, sits at the top of the hierarchy of all creations,
distinguished by his intelligence. Human intelligence has been
evolving for millenniums so that humans can reach their full
capacity in appreciating and obeying God without seeing him. This
what the angels failed to realize when they questioned why Allah is
creating a new creation that will cause corruption and shed blood.
{(Remember) when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to create
a vicegerent on the Earth!” They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your
praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which
you do not know."} (2:30)
Satan has been working relentlessly to make us behave like the
creation that the angels were referencing in the above verse. He wants
to prove to Allah that the last creation to last inhabit the Earth,
mankind, is no better than the preceding inhabitants, and it is him who
should had been appointed vicegerent on this Earth. However, what
the angels did not know that among the Children of Adam there
will be those, like them, obedient and will also declare Allah’s
praise and sanctify him, but without seeing him, and consequently,
will pass the training program. And for mankind to pass the training
exam, they need to learn and gain knowledge. That is why God
distinguished us with intelligence from all other creations. We need
intelligence to infer the truth. That is why Allah first taught Adam the
names of all things, and why the first words he revealed to his last and
final prophet, an illiterate man of excellent character, started with
“Read!”. The word “Read!” was not intended to prophet
Mohammad, because he does not know how to read. Prophet
Mohammad confirmed this three times. The word ‘Read” is
addressed to all the people to come after the revelation of the final message, who will become intelligent enough to infer the truth
through reading written words (as evidence), in contrast to ancient
people, who needed to witness a miracle (as evidence) to infer the
truth (for the most part, still among us people that need physical
representation of a deity, such as idols, and visual miracles, to believe.
And even with miracles many with locked hearts will still not believe).
Knowledge and wisdom are the eyes that enable us to see the light,
and without knowledge and wisdom we are blind (34:6). The truth is
light, and falsehood is darkness. There’re many who believe in God
today, only because they have very shallow knowledge of religion they
inherited from their family. However, without the full true knowledge,
their belief system is vulnerable to Satan’s deceptions. Satan has been
working all this time to hide the real truth from us, while convincing
mankind that knowledge is limited to scientific discoveries and the
knowledge of what humans invent. He doesn’t want us to know the
supreme knowledge presented in the Quran, unlike The Guide to the
Right Path, who will guide to the truth those that seek him and give
him benefit of the doubt. Many educated people did a great job in
reading many books and gaining finite knowledge of how the universe
is driven, but they failed to learn about The Guardian who is driving
and guarding it. They failed to realize that it is God who inspired us to achieve scientific discoveries, so that we also get to appreciate him by
discovering his creation (71:13-20). They can’t reach such realization
without gaining the knowledge found in the divine scriptures, more so
in the last scripture, the Quran, than any other. They failed because of
Satan’s deceptions, and because they didn’t try hard enough, if at all,
to seek the truth and give God benefit of the doubt. Even worse, they
started to champion scientific theories as the absolute truth to support
their position that there is no such thing as The Incomparable
Originator. They became blind and trapped in Satan’s falsehood. They
can’t free themselves from falsehood because without faith in the
creator deity and the unseen world they are not granted any guidance
and knowledge of the truth, unless The Inspirer of Faith chooses by his
own will to make exceptions.
{…Allah chooses (and pulls) towards Himself anyone He wills, and
guides to Himself anyone who turns to Him (in seeking guidance).}
(42:13)
Before anything was created, The Everlasting beautifully scripted
everything that will come into existence and what will happen until
doomsday to serve a purpose, hence, destiny. Everything is destined to
happen as per what he decreed in the Preserved Tablet, and Allah does not wrong anyone (4:40). In other words, the story, training ground,
programs, trails, characters, plots, and positions, etc., were predestined
long time ago (54:49), we don’t have a say in that. I visualize life’s
construct as a pre-recorded (6:59) interactive movie (serving a purpose
and not for entertainment) that is playing in slow motion, in relative to
God’s measure of time (22:47). We are only here on Earth as actors
in this movie to perform in every position we are placed in, and
our performance in every position will determine our role and the
path we take. We have control over our performance, but we have
no control over the scripted story. Nevertheless, if we have a dire
need, The Responsive One told us to invoke him and he will
respond (40:60) as he sees best. Because Allah is not cruel to anyone,
the actors will get requited in full for their performance, in the herein
and hereafter. The best performers are the patient righteous believers,
and the very best performers amongst them are the chosen ones
(24:55). Allah tends to choose them when they reach peak maturity
around the age of forty (46:15). By forty, one should have gone
through enough trials in life to demonstrate to The Trustee their
rectitude, certitude in faith, and unwavering trust in their lord.
I might not comprehend all the programs and systems The
Absolutely Pure has put in place for us in this worldly life, but I trust that all his wise systems are balanced and fair. I know this because I
became conscious of Allah’s training academy. As his proud servant,
I do not want to disobey by beloved lord. I don’t want to let down all
the chosen teachers that were sent to us, peace be upon them all. If
there is anyone I want to let down, it is my overt enemy and his party
that want me and you to fail.
When Adam and Eve were sent down to Earth, their first
descendants were one ummah (community) united in faith, but Satan
has been working ever since to delude and divide mankind. The All-
Witnessing allowed this to happen to test us and to carry out his
training program. Nevertheless, I strongly believe The Subduer
ultimately wants Satan to be subdued, and for the inhabitants of Earth
to be one united community in faith, living on the straight path
(21:105). If I understood the final message and prophet Mohammad’s
prophecies correctly, this is bound to happen after Satan and his party
get finally defeated for good with the coming of the two long-awaited
men, Al-Mahdi and prophet Jesus, Allah’s final major intervention to
achieve his objective and promise: The Climax and Final Reset. Al-
Mahdi will first expose the truth (The Awakening) and destroy Satan’s
matrix, which will eventually force the Antichrist to come out of his
hiding to kill Al-Mahdi and try to salvage whatever he can. God will then intervene by sending down Prophet Isa (Jesus), who will end the
battle by killing the Antichrist, and confirm the truth to the world. I
suspect right before Jesus’ descend to Earth, the test of faith in the truth
might halt (or end) and God’s gate of repentance will be shut, since the
truth is about to be undeniably confirmed through a witnessed miracle.
For me, the miracle of Jesus’ second coming is analogous to the
miracle of the Last Supper. Since the people alive at that time get to
witness the miracle of Jesus’ second coming, they have no excuse for
not believing in the truth. I suspect God will close the gate of
repentance before the miracle occurs, like he did with the disciples
before the miracle of the table spread. If I am correct, and based on the
end times prophecies, this means the sun will rise from the west right
before the second coming. I suspect it will happen during Ad-Dajjal’s
short time span, and he will use this to claim he made the sun rise from
the west; therefore, he is god (2:258). I am only speculating; only Allah
knows the true sequence of events and what will exactly happen.
After death, those who passed the exam are the winners, and those
that did not, are the losers. The losers will be sent to a penitentiary
called Hell. If not pardoned, the believers among the losers will
proceed to serving their sentence there in torment, and later to be freed to enter Paradise. As for the disbelievers among the losers, they will
live in Hell forever.
{The Day they will be pushed to the Fire forcefully, (and it will be said
to them) “This is the Fire you used to deny. Is this magic, or do you
not see? Enter it. Now, whether you endure (it) patiently or
impatiently, it is all the same for you; you are merely rewarded for
what you used to do”} (52:13-16)
Since God is The Most Merciful, he could guide by compulsion
everyone to the straight path to avoid Hell, but he made a proclamation
early on, and when God proclaims a matter, he never reneges on his
proclamation (32:13). Do you remember what he proclaimed?
{(Iblis) said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." (Allah)
said, "Indeed, you are of those reprieved." (Iblis) said, "Because You
have put me in error, I will surely sit for them (in ambush) on Your
straight path. Then I will come to them from before them and from
behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find
most of them grateful (to You)." (Allah) said, "Get out of Paradise,
reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them - I will
surely fill Hell with you and them, all together."} (7:14-18)
The Steadfast proclaimed that he would fill Hell with whomever
follows Satan and his deceptions (32:13). God first made the right faith
part of our innate knowledge (30:30), then sent us his messengers and
his divine books to warn us from Satan and Hell, because {…Allah is
not cruel to (His) creation.} (8:51), but {…they have taken My signs,
and the warnings given to them, as mockery.} (18:56)
{And they (disbelievers) say, "There is no life but our worldly life; we
die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." They have no
knowledge about that; they are only assuming.} (45:24)
This is one aspect to why we have to live in a bubble and go through
life as we know it. Another, more straightforward, explanation is
clearly stated in the Quran, verse (51:56):
{And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.}
Every single creation has one purpose, and that is to praise31 and
worship The Praiseworthy. I heard some Muslim scholars say,
supported by verse (33:72), that the angels, mankind, and jinn were all
given a choice, obey and worship God by free will or by compulsion.
31 That is why Muslims keep saying “Alla-Hoo-Akbar”, Allah is the Greatest, greater than anything you can witness
or imagine, like infinity. Greater than your own desires. Unfortunately, and with the help of the deceiving media,
deluded Muslims chanted the phrase in wrong situations, making it sound evil to non-Muslims. From my life
experiences, I learned that the greatest trial God will put the believers in is what I call “The Alla-Hoo-Akbar Trial”.

If they choose compulsion, they are awarded Paradise, and if they
choose free will they are either awarded Paradise, if they do obey, or
get punished in Hell, if they don’t. The jinn and mankind took the free
will option, while the angels took the compulsion option. I assume God
presented us the options to choose from in the first life at Mount
Arafah, after he wiped with his hand the loin part of the back of Adam
and asked us, “Am I not your Lord?” This means mankind testified
that Allah is their Lord, which Allah took as a covenant, but
because mankind chose to obey Allah only by free will, Allah had
to decease them then bring them to life the second time to take the
worldly exam and bear the consequences of their performance on
the exam. It is as if God asked us if we were sure we wanted to do this,
and we said yes, then God said bear witness that this was your choice,
so don’t come complaining about Hell and pleading for a way out, on
Judgement Day. Truth to be told by Allah, those who worshiped other
than Allah will indeed plead for forgiveness on Judgement Day.
{They will plead, “Our Lord! You made us lifeless twice, and gave us
life twice. Now we confess our sins. So is there any way out?” (They
will be told,) “(No!) This is because when Allah alone was invoked,
you (staunchly) disbelieved. But when others were associated with Him (in worship), you (readily) believed. So (Today) judgment
belongs to Allah (alone)—the Most High, All-Great.”} (40:11-12)
As for the Muslims, who submitted themselves to Allah, they are
granted a great earthly opportunity to be forgiven for all their previous
sins and become born again Muslims. This favor is granted at Mount
Arafah, the same place where they came into existence in the first life.
On the Day of Arafah, during the annual Hajj pilgrimage, God asked
his pilgrims to spend the day repenting32 and praying, and in return, he
will wipe out all of their previously recorded evil deeds (Hadith).
Since we have to take the exam in the second life, the memory of
the covenant and the first life is not included in our innate knowledge.
It would be considered cheating if we already knew the absolute truth
of the second life’s purpose. However, the remembrance of Allah is
included, so that we begin the second life with the innate truth. Having
said that, more questions come to mind. Why did God present these
two choices to us? God knows our nature and that we will always
prefer free will over compulsion. Why did God create free will? Why
is it important to Allah that some of his creations believe in his
existence and get to know and obey him without seeing him? Human
32 There are other stipulations that also need to be met. Even those that are not attending Hajj have the
opportunity to benefit from the most important day in the year.
curiosity is endless, isn’t it?! For every answer to every “why?” there
is another “but why?”. Knowledge at the end is limited, and we can’t
keep asking like young kids “but why?”. I have my own perspective of
God’s intentions and some mysteries to why he created everything,
which addressesthese questions, but I will not delve into it in this book.
However, I’ll leave this to those who like to ponder:
